Historically Black Colleges and Universities National Band Directors Consortium

The purpose of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities National Band Directors Consortium, Inc. is to provide an opportunity for Band Directors and students to collaborate and develop strategic plans for success in instrumental music programs. In addition, the Annual Convention provides opportunities for individual products to be evaluated through performances. Our Annual Convention, which includes onsite workshops and clinics, is held to provide excellent educational value for band directors and students, aspiring to become band directors.

National Band Association

The National Band Association, founded on September 11, 1960, is the largest professional organization for bands in the world. It was organized for the purpose of promoting the musical and educational significance of bands and is dedicated to the attainment of a high level of excellence for bands and band music. The NBA is an organization open to anyone and everyone interested in bands, regardless of the length of experience, type of position held, or the specific level at which one works. The membership roster includes professionals and students from every facet of the band world. NBA is today’s professional organization for band directors, and it stands ready to serve all members of the association through a variety of projects and initiatives.

National Association for Music Education (NAfME), among the world’s largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. NAfME advocates at the local, state, and national levels; provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators; hosts professional development events; and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers. The Association orchestrates success for millions of students nationwide and has supported music educators at all teaching levels for more than a century.

Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America's public schools and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education.

United Sound Logo

United Sound

United Sound is a peer mentoring program that pairs students with special needs and their typical peers in the band and orchestra setting. Music teachers and their students utilize United Sound's specialized curriculum, training, and structure to create band and orchestra clubs. New Musicians (students with intellectual or developmental disabilities) are taught by their Peer Mentors to play the instrument of their choice at a personally modified level. United Sound students then join the full band or orchestra to perform in concert with their peers.

Western International Band Clinic

Western International Band Clinic

A convention for directors and students. Founded in 1979, WIBC features four 165-member high school honor bands under 6 world-renowned guest conductors and a soloist. Held in Seattle, Washington each November.
